XPENG Enters the Irish EV Market with the G6 Coupé SUV

Another new Chinese competitor enters the fray 

Overview

XPENG is the latest brand to enter the Irish electric vehicle (EV) market, bringing a new option for buyers looking to embrace electric mobility. Distributed by Motor Distributors Limited (MDL), XPENG launches in Ireland with the G6 Coupé SUV, a four-door model designed to offer a combination of technology, performance, and practicality.

Model Lineup and Performance

The XPENG G6 is available in three variants:

  • Standard Range – Rear-wheel drive, 190 kW (258 hp), 66 kWh battery, 435 km WLTP range, 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
  • Long Range – Rear-wheel drive, 87.5 kWh battery, up to 570 km WLTP range, 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
  • Performance – All-wheel drive, dual-motor system producing 476 hp, 87.5 kWh battery, 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

All versions have a 200 km/h top speed and an optional electrically deployable towbar with a 1,500 kg towing capacity.

Technology and Features

Built on an 800V architecture, the G6 supports fast charging and incorporates AI-driven technology throughout. Standard features include:

  • 20-inch alloy wheels with Michelin tyres
  • Panoramic glass roof
  • Heated, leatherette-covered seats with ventilated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Four USB ports and two 50W wireless charging pads
  • 960W audio system with 18 speakers
  • Advanced driver assistance systems, including blind-spot monitoring, parking assist, and 360-degree cameras
  • XPENG’s Xmart OS infotainment system with over-the-air updates
  • Standard heat pump to enhance efficiency in colder conditions

Inside, the G6 features a minimalist design with soft-touch materials, an uncluttered dashboard, and spacious rear seating. The 571-litre boot expands to 1,374 litres with the rear seats folded.

Pricing and Availability

The XPENG G6 launches in Ireland with a starting price of €42,000 for the Standard Range and €49,440 for the Long Range, inclusive of grants and incentives. The Performance model is set to arrive in Q3 2025.

XPENG vehicles will initially be sold through XPENG South Dublin, with plans for a nationwide dealer network. Future models expected to follow include the XPENG G9 SUV, P7 Sedan, and P7+ Fastback Sedan.
