THE newest generation of SsangYong's Korando has just been rolled out here.

The 1.5 petrol manual starts at €24,495 with the 1.6TDi manual kicking off from €26,495.

The compact SUV has been overhauled inside and out.

There is a new 1.5 litre direct injection turbo petrol and a 1.6 litre diesel.

They claim 'class-leading' rear seat space.

A full electric version is planned.

Among the specification and equipment on board the new SUV are advanced driver assistance and safety system, advanced emergency braking system with camera and radar, lane keeping, high beam assists, safety distance alert, intelligent adaptive cruise control and lots more.

In terms of connectively, there is Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto.

The new car is longer, wider and lower. It has a longer wheelbase than the previous model too.

For the record, it is 4,450mm long, 1,870mm wide, 1,620mm tall, and the wheelbase is 2,675mm.

Luggage capacity ranges from 551 litres with the seats up to 1,248 litres with the rear ones folded. That is a lot of room.

SsangYong is also claiming the car affords better headroom and rear seat space than competitors.
