We preview the new Skoda Karoq at the international launch in Sicily

Overview

Overview

Hot on the heels of the hugely successful Kodiaq, the five seat Karoq is the latest model to join the Skoda SUV line-up and will arrive in Irish showrooms in December.

The entry level Active trim will not be available on Karoq, and instead will start with the usually mid-range Ambition spec, giving it a starting price of €27,715.

Standard features on Ambition include 17 inch alloy wheels, dual zone climate control, parking sensors, a reversing camera and Smartlink+ which incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The engine line-up will consist of a range of diesels and petrols; a 1.6l TDI and two 2.0l TDIs with power outputs of 150 or 190hp respectively, a 1.0l turbo-charged TSI, and for the first time in a Skoda, a 1.5l TSI featuring fuel-saving cylinder deactivation.

Watch our video above for a sneak preview from the international launch in Sicily last week, and watch out for our full review and test drive when it arrives.
