Swedish EV brand to open flagship Polestar Space in Sandyford as OHM Group takes on national distribution
Polestar has announced a strengthened partnership with OHM Group, marking a significant step in the brand’s growth in Ireland. As of 15 April 2025, OHM Group will take over the distribution of Polestar vehicles in Ireland, expanding on its existing relationship with the Swedish premium electric performance brand through its retail division, Spirit Motor Group.
The move sees OHM Group assume responsibility for national sales and distribution as part of a long-term agreement aimed at supporting Polestar’s continued development in the Irish market. The partnership will also see the creation of a new permanent Polestar Space in Sandyford, Dublin, due to open in Q2 2025.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for Polestar, following the recent Irish launches of two new electric SUVs — the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 — with the Polestar 5, a luxury four-door GT, set to join the line-up later this year.
Polestar first entered the Irish market in 2022 with Spirit Motor Group as its exclusive retail partner, launching with the Polestar 2. Since then, over 750 vehicles have been delivered nationwide.
Scott Dicken, Commercial Director Europe at Polestar, commented:
“Spirit Motor Group has been our committed partner from the start in Ireland. We believe the best way to develop our presence is to deepen our collaboration with OHM Group, taking direct responsibility for the distribution of Polestar cars in Ireland.”
OHM Group’s Managing Director for its car division, Gerard O’Farrell, added:
“We are excited to deepen our relationship with Polestar and take on the distribution responsibility for this hugely exciting EV brand in Ireland. With the expanded model range, this competitively priced premium brand is poised for growth.”
The forthcoming Polestar Space in Sandyford will feature a seven-car showroom and dedicated customer handover bays. Spirit Motor Group will continue to manage aftersales services from this location, alongside five other Polestar service partners across the country.
Alan Moore, Managing Director of Spirit Motor Group, said the new facility will offer a premium customer experience aligned with the brand’s distinctive identity.
With a growing product line-up and a new dedicated showroom in the pipeline, Polestar is positioning itself for sustained expansion in Ireland’s rapidly evolving EV market.
