I may have found the greenest of them all in the new Peugeot 308.
It is the most striking colour I have come across in a new car for a long time. It’s called Olivine Green and it is a masterpiece of tone and depth.
The new 308 was rolled out here during the week and it is a much different proposition to anything that has gone before from Peugeot.

Two plug-in hybrid versions are on sale now: a HYBRID 180 e-EAT8, two-wheel drive, 150hp 1.6-litre and an 81kW electric motor with an eight-speed gearbox. They claim 24g/km and up to 60km on 100pc electric range.
The HYBRID 225 e-EAT8 two-wheel drive combines a 180hp 1.6-litre engine and an 81kW electric motor. They claim 27g of C0₂ per km and up to 59km of 100pc electric range.
There is also a 1.2-litre, 130bhp three-cylinder petrol with eight-speed automatic or a 1.5-litre, 130bhp four-cylinder diesel with eight-speed automatic.
There will be a station wagon from July. A full electric version is due late next year.
