Irish family favourite gets an update and new fully electric powertrain option

Overview

New Peugeot 5008

Peugeot Ireland has unveiled the all-new 5008, a seven-seater SUV designed to offer practicality, advanced technology, and efficient powertrain options. Built on the STLA Medium platform, the 5008 is available with a hybrid or all-electric powertrain, both starting at €50,995*.

Versatile Seven-Seater Design The new 5008 is equipped with three rows of seating as standard, providing flexibility for families and passengers, although some will lament the loss of the individual seating in the middle row which is no longer a feature of this new model. A sliding and tilting second row allows easy access to the third row, while tri-zone climate control ensures comfort for all occupants. The GT trim adds rear window blinds and ambient interior lighting.

Modern Styling and Aerodynamic Design Featuring a sleek, high-beltline design, the 5008 is available in six colours, with GT models including a Black Diamond roof and rear spoiler. LED lighting technology, including Pixel LED headlights and three-claw LED daytime running lights (GT versions), enhances visibility. The 5008 is fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels designed for improved aerodynamics.

Technology and Connectivity The PEUGEOT 5008 features the Panoramic i-Cockpit®, integrating a 21-inch curved digital display that combines a raised head-up display and a central touchscreen. The i-Connect® Advanced infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto, 3D navigation, and over-the-air updates. Customizable i-Toggle shortcuts allow quick access to frequently used functions.

Powertrain Options The 5008 is available with two electrified powertrains:

  • E-5008 All-Electric: A 73kWh battery and a 210hp motor provide up to 502 km (WLTP) range, with DC fast charging enabling a 20%-80% charge in 30 minutes. A long-range 98kWh variant (668 km WLTP) is expected in mid-2025.
  • 5008 Hybrid 136 e-DCS6: A 136hp petrol engine paired with a 48V hybrid system offers improved efficiency. The hybrid model can operate in full-electric mode for up to 50% of urban driving, reducing fuel consumption by up to 15% (5.8 l/100 km WLTP).

Trim Levels and Features The 5008 is available in Allure and GT trims:

  • Allure: Standard features include adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot detection, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior features embossed fabric and leather-effect trim.
  • GT: Additional features include a Black Diamond roof, Pixel LED headlights, 3D LED rear lights, a hands-free smart electric tailgate, ambient interior lighting, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel.
