Opel has unveiled the first images of the upcoming Opel Frontera, a new addition to their SUV lineup. Promising both fun and spaciousness, this latest model will offer consumers the choice between fully electric and hybrid powertrains. Scheduled to debut in Irish showrooms later this year, Opel has yet to disclose pricing and equipment details, which will be made available closer to the launch date.

According to Opel CEO Florian Huettl, the new Frontera is designed to cater to a diverse clientele seeking a blend of rugged aesthetics, ample space, innovative features, and efficient drivetrains. Huettl emphasizes its suitability for urban and suburban environments, coupled with a recharging experience for customers.

The exterior design of the Frontera reflects Opel's bold and contemporary design philosophy, characterized by its upright and striking stance. The Opel Blitz emblem takes center stage on the Opel Vizor, set against a black vizor that seamlessly integrates the headlamps. The distinctive Opel wing signature and pronounced wheel arches contribute to the vehicle's modern and robust appearance.

Inside, the Frontera combines clever design with practicality, featuring wide horizontal decors on the instrument panel and doors to enhance cabin spaciousness. The cockpit boasts a fully digital Pure Panel with two 10-inch displays and a multimedia infotainment system, complemented by a bold and elegant new steering wheel. Opel prioritizes comfort and minimal distraction, offering a clean user experience to alleviate digital stress.

For those who prefer using their mobile devices, the Frontera offers an optional smartphone station, allowing users to control the infotainment system through a dedicated app. Charging mobile devices is facilitated by a cooled wireless charger and multiple USB ports throughout the cabin. Additionally, the vehicle provides ample storage options, including integrated smartphone pockets in the backrests of the front seats.

The Frontera prioritizes passenger comfort with features like the patented Intelli-Seat in the front seats, designed to alleviate pressure on the tailbone during long journeys. The seats are crafted with attention to detail, featuring contrast stitching and sustainable recycled materials.

In terms of cargo space, the Frontera offers over 460 liters of luggage space with the back seats up, expandable to over 1,600 liters with the seats folded down. Optional functional roof rails provide additional versatility for customers requiring extra storage.

Customers can choose between a purely battery electric variant and a highly efficient 48-volt hybrid, both promising a high level of driving pleasure thanks to Opel's specific chassis setup. With its expressive design, innovative features, and eco-friendly drivetrains, the new Opel Frontera embodies the brand's commitment to electrification while catering to a diverse range of customers.
