Fully electric and Plug In Hybrid Models to Follow
Stylish, dynamic, and versatile, the new Opel Grandland is set to make its debut in Ireland this November, offering a range of electrified drivetrains including battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, and 48-volt hybrid options. Designed and engineered in Germany, the Grandland Hybrid SC trim will start at €40,995 plus delivery.
James Brooks, Managing Director of Opel Ireland, remarked, “The new Grandland marks a significant milestone for Opel. With its striking design, spacious interior, and top-notch technology, it sets new benchmarks in its segment. The diverse selection of electrified drivetrains caters to various customer needs, all within a competitively priced package for Ireland. We eagerly anticipate its arrival in dealerships nationwide soon.”
The Grandland, the first Opel built on the STLA Medium platform, will launch in Ireland with a Hybrid powertrain. This features a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine (100 kW / 136 hp) paired with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. This technology allows for up to 50% electric driving in urban environments, appealing to those who prefer electric driving without frequent charging. The Hybrid model significantly reduces CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
An all-electric version with a 73 kWh battery (523 km range, 160 kW DC charging) will follow shortly, along with an 82 kWh variant (582 km range, 150 kW DC charging) manufactured in Douvrin, France. By 2025, a 97 kWh battery offering up to 700 km of range will be available.
The new Grandland is larger than its predecessor, measuring 4,650 mm (+173 mm) in length, 1,934 mm (+49 mm) in width, and 1,665 mm (+36 mm) in height, with increased rear legroom and a maximum load volume of 1,645 liters. Its bold stance is accentuated by 19” alloy wheels, a two-tone floating roof (in the GS trim), and striking wheel-arch lines, making it a standout in Opel's SUV lineup.
Visually, the Grandland features eye-catching front and rear lighting signatures. A new 3D front Vizor with an illuminated Blitz logo is standard on the level three GS trim, while an illuminated OPEL logo at the rear is included across all trims. It also introduces Opel’s advanced glare-free Intelli-Lux HD lighting technology, featuring over 50,000 lighting elements as standard on GS trims.
Inside, the cockpit showcases a sporty design with either a 10” or 16” multimedia display, depending on the trim, and a high center console. A fully digital driver cluster provides essential information, and drivers can activate Pure Mode to minimize distractions, especially at night or high speeds. Common functions like climate control remain easily accessible through a few physical buttons.
The Grandland is available in six colors, including new Impakt Copper and Spektrum Green, and comes in three trims: SC, Elegance, and GS.
The entry-level Grandland Hybrid SC trim starts at €40,995 plus delivery, featuring an illuminated OPEL rear logo, adaptive cruise control, a 10” infotainment Pure Panel, 19” alloy wheels, and more.
The mid-range Grandland Hybrid Elegance trim, priced from €42,995 plus delivery, adds AGR driver and passenger seats, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power tailgate.
The top-tier Grandland Hybrid GS trim is available from €44,995 plus delivery and includes a 16” infotainment screen with navigation, IntelliLux 50K pixel HD headlamps, and a new 3D illuminated Vizor.
The new Grandland Hybrid will be in Opel dealer showrooms this November, with the Grandland Electric arriving soon after, with pricing to be announced in the coming weeks.
