Five-door Cooper now joins the new MINI family

Overview

MINI has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the new MINI Cooper 5 Door, offering increased comfort and interior space. This new addition is available with a choice of two petrol engines, three trims, and nine exterior paint colors, including the new Icy Sunshine Blue. Built at the MINI Plant Oxford, the new model is priced from €33,435 OTR, with first customer deliveries starting in August 2024.

Dimensions and Design The new MINI Cooper 5 Door measures 4,036mm in length, 1,744mm in width, and 1,464mm in height, making it similar in size to its predecessor. The wheelbase is extended by 72mm, providing additional interior space and comfort for passengers. The design features hallmark MINI elements such as short overhangs, a long wheelbase, and large wheels, maintaining the iconic MINI look.

Engine Options and Performance The new MINI Cooper 5 Door comes with two petrol engine options: the MINI Cooper C and MINI Cooper S. The MINI Cooper C features a 115 kW/154 hp three-cylinder engine with 230 Nm of torque, achieving a top speed of 225 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 8.0 seconds. The MINI Cooper S is equipped with a 150 kW/201 hp four-cylinder engine, delivering 300 Nm of torque, a top speed of 241 km/h, and a 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds.

Trim Levels and Customization Customers can choose from three trims: Classic, Exclusive, and Sport. Each trim offers unique exterior and interior customization options.

  • Classic Trim: Features a minimalist design with the MINI wings logo in Vibrant Silver, five exterior paint finishes, two contrasting roof colors, and two wheel options.
  • Exclusive Trim: Adds British Racing Green and Icy Sunshine Blue exterior paint, Vescin Nightshade Blue interior, dark interior headliner, and 17” U Spoke Silver wheels as standard, with optional 18” wheel designs.
  • Sport Trim: Includes a distinctive front and rear design with high-gloss black grille surround, 18” JCW Lap Spoke 2-Tone Alloy wheels, and interior features like a JCW black/red dashboard knit and a lidded storage box in red/black knit.

Interior Features The interior of the new MINI Cooper 5 Door focuses on a circular infotainment screen, characteristic toggle switches, and a versatile steering wheel. The slim head-up display ensures relevant information is always in the driver’s field of vision. Innovative materials, including recycled polyester, create a modern and spacious cabin with a panoramic glass roof that allows for ample natural light.

Advanced Technology A 24cm high-resolution OLED display serves as the central control for vehicle functions, operable via touch or voice control using MINI Operating System 9. The MINI Connected Package supports realistic 3D navigation, current traffic information, and parking facility details. Seven MINI Experience Modes, including Core, Green, Go-Kart, Personal, Vivid, Timeless, and Balance, allow for personalized cabin experiences through matching color schemes and ambient lighting.

MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant The new MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) can be activated by saying "Hey MINI," allowing drivers to control various functions such as navigation, telephony, and entertainment through voice commands.

The new MINI Cooper 5 Door, built at the MINI Plant Oxford, offers enhanced comfort, dynamic performance, and extensive customization options, making it a versatile and appealing choice for drivers. Priced from €33,435 OTR, it will be available for delivery starting in August 2024.
