Overview

The new Citroën ë-C3 has been awarded the Ecobest award 2024, voted for by the Autobest jury. Autobest is Europe’s largest independent motoring writers jury, with representatives from 31 countries ranking passenger cars according to average European consumer needs. The award, which assesses environmentally friendly mobility, energy efficiency, and environmental impact reduction recognises the ë-C3 as the most compelling electric car entering the market in 2024.

Since 2002, Autobest has recognised the car with the highest number of votes per category. For the Ecobest award, the cars are assessed on the basis of environmentally friendly transport and performance aspects such as range, battery or charging as well as criteria related to the cost of ownership. The new ë-C3 was submitted for the votes of 31 motoring journalists from 31 European countries and has emerged with the accredited “Ecobest” 2024 award.

With an 83 kW (113hp) electric motor and a 44 kWh battery that offers a range up to 320 km in the WLTP cycle, the new ë-C3 delivers more than enough power and performance to satisfy the majority of customers who need an electric city car for urban and suburban travel.

In addition to electric comfort, the well-being of driver and occupants has long been a priority for Citroën. With ë-C3, well-being goes to a new level with revised versions of the highly padded Citroën Advanced Comfort® seats. Meanwhile, Citroën’s Advanced Comfort Suspension adds the unique and distinctive flying carpet effect.

With a modern design that combines a B-hatchback with higher ground clearance and higher seating position, ë-C3 caters to the evolving needs of customers. All while offering a wide range of useful equipment and driver assistance technologies.

The acknowledgement for New ë-C3 by a professional jury arrives following very positive feedback from the Citroën dealer network and the Irish motoring press. The vehicle was officially unveiled in Citywest, Dublin by Citroën CEO Thierry Koskas in October.

Speaking today on the announcement, Colin Sheridan, MD of Citroën Ireland mentioned “It is a true testament to the innovation of Citroën that the ë-C3 has been awarded the Ecobest award by the Autobest jury so shortly after it’s reveal. We are truly excited for the arrival of this vehicle in 2024 and are certainly encouraged by the accolades it is building!”

New Citroën ë-C3 is expected to arrive in Ireland Q3 of 2024.
