Multimac Car Seat Solution - Fit 4 Kids Without a Bigger Car?

Published on 14 February, 2025

We take a detailed look at the Multimac car seat - a potential car seat solution for large families

Overview

Need to fit three or even four children in the back of your car, but don’t want to upgrade to a bigger vehicle? The Multimac car seat could be the solution. This innovative multi-child car seat system allows families to safely seat up to four kids across the back of a standard five-seater car, eliminating the need for a larger SUV or seven-seater.

What is the Multimac Car Seat?

The Multimac is a unique car seat system designed to replace your car’s standard rear seats with a custom fitting that can accommodate three or four children. It’s compatible with a wide range of cars, from small hatchbacks to larger saloons, making it an ideal option for families who need to fit multiple car seats but don’t want to buy a bigger vehicle.

How Does It Work?

The Multimac is bolted into your car using existing seatbelt anchor points, creating a secure and stable platform for up to four child seats. It’s available in different sizes depending on the width of your car, and it can accommodate children from newborns to around 12 years old, thanks to the optional Minimac seat for infants and adjustable headrests for older kids.

However, there are some downsides to consider. The upfront price of the Multimac is a significant investment. Once installed, it is more permanent than a standard car seat, making it less convenient if you need to frequently switch cars.
