Lexus is offering a 10-year (or 1,000,000 km) extended battery cover.
Lexus Ireland has announced its first all-electric vehicle, the UX 300e, will be available in Ireland from January 2021. The highly anticipated launch will see the arrival of Lexus first all-electric vehicle under the banner of the ‘Lexus Electrified’.
The new UX 300e has been developed for excellent on-road performance. Providing dynamic performance capabilities, the UX 300e features a low centre of gravity due to the motor and battery placement siting underneath the vehicle body, creating more space for drivers and passengers and a larger 367 litre boot space. The vehicle also suppresses outside noises such as wind which would be otherwise noticeable in the absence of an engine and transmission, creating a relaxed and ever more enjoyable driving experience.
Leveraging Lexus’ unique experience in building over 1.7 million electrified hybrids since 2005, the UX 300e also includes a newly developed lithium-ion battery. Powered by a 54.3 kilowatt-hour high-capacity battery, it can achieve 300km*range on a single charge. The batteries are expertly equipped with a temperature management system, as well as a specific monitoring system that regulates charging.
In addition to the unique features of the UX 300e, as a measure of the brand’s confidence in its all-electric vehicle technology, Lexus is offering a 10-year (or 1,000,000 km) extended battery cover.
Ian Corbett, Head of Lexus Ireland commented: “We are delighted to announce the arrival of the UX300e – our first all-electric Lexus model. We’ve been able to build upon our experience in developing self-charging electrified vehicles since 2005 to launch a stunning all-electric crossover SUV for the premium segment. We look forward to providing customers with a new 100% electrified option in the Lexus range from 2021.”
