Dacia Spring: Ireland’s Best Value EV Just Got Even Cheaper

Published on 25 April, 2025

New Spring will start from just €15,990

Overview

Dacia has announced revised pricing for the all-electric Spring, with the Expression 65hp version now starting from €15,990. With this update, the brand continues to focus on affordability in the electric vehicle market, targeting budget-conscious buyers and those looking for a simple entry point into electric motoring.

The Spring remains the lightest fully electric passenger car on sale in Europe, weighing under one tonne. This contributes to its energy efficiency and range, which stands at up to 225 km (WLTP). It supports both AC charging (up to 7kW) and DC fast charging, with 20–80% achievable in around 45 minutes.

Two versions are available: the Expression and the higher-spec Extreme. Standard equipment on the Expression includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, USB connectivity, cruise control, and manual air conditioning. The Extreme version, priced from €17,990, adds a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a reversing camera, and a vehicle-to-load adaptor.

Finance options now include PCP from €99 per week and 0% hire purchase, provided through Mobilize Financial Services. Dacia says the updated offer is aimed at improving accessibility to EV ownership amid rising living costs and a growing market for smaller, urban-friendly electric vehicles.

In terms of practicality, the Spring offers 308 litres of boot space (expandable to 1,004 litres with the rear seats folded), and nearly 31 litres of additional interior storage – competitive figures for a car of this size.

While it may lack the performance or range of more expensive EVs, the Spring continues to appeal to drivers seeking basic, efficient urban transport. It is available now through Dacia’s 31-strong dealer network across Ireland.
