Introduced in 2021 as BMW’s first purpose-built all-electric SAV, the BMW iX defined a new chapter for the brand. This latest iteration builds on its success with:
Increased system power output and efficiency improvements.
A significant boost in range, with up to 685km (WLTP) on a single charge.
Redesigned performance electronics and advancements in battery technology.
The BMW iX xDrive60 (which replaces the iX xDrive50) benefits from an improved range, offering around 54km more than before. The updated inverter technology ensures a highly efficient transfer of energy from the battery to the motor, with range increases of up to 40% across certain models.
Design Enhancements
The refreshed BMW iX features a bolder exterior and a more refined interior, with updates including:
An enhanced M Sport trim with sculpted front and rear aprons.
Aerodynamically optimised 21-, 22-, and new 23-inch M light-alloy wheels.
Seven new exterior paint finishes, including Arctic Race Blue and Carbon Black.
Redesigned BMW kidney grille and adaptive LED headlights with City Light technology.
Powertrain and Driving Dynamics
All BMW iX models feature dual-motor electric all-wheel drive, with increased power across the range:
iX xDrive45: 408 hp (up 82 hp from iX xDrive40), 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds.
iX xDrive60: 544 hp (up 21 hp from iX xDrive50), 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds.
iX M70 xDrive: 659 hp (up 40 hp from iX M60 xDrive), 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Chassis enhancements include an adaptive two-axle air suspension (standard on the iX M70 xDrive), Integral Active Steering, and weight-balanced high-voltage battery technology for improved dynamics and comfort.
Charging and Technology
The BMW iX continues to lead in charging capabilities:
DC charging: Up to 195 kW (iX xDrive60 and iX M70 xDrive) or 175 kW (iX xDrive45).
AC charging: Up to 22 kW across all variants.
Optimised battery pre-conditioning and efficient heat pump system.
New BMW iDrive with Operating System 8.5, Curved Display, voice control, video streaming, and in-car gaming.
