2025: Celebrating 75 Years of Volkswagen in Ireland

Celebrating with special edition trims and finance offers

Overview

2025 marks the 75th year of the Volkswagen brand in Ireland. In 1950, the first-ever Beetle manufactured outside of Germany was assembled on Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin, marking the brand’s beginning in the Irish market. Since then, Volkswagen has enjoyed phenomenal success, disrupting the market with each new model and solidifying its presence in Irish life and families through many generations.

To kick off year-long celebrations of this significant anniversary, Volkswagen Ireland has released special edition trims as part of their 251 model lineup for customers. The 'Edition 75' trim is available across a range of models, including the Tiguan, Golf, and T-Roc. Additionally, a limited edition R-Line trim, ‘R-Line 75’, is offered on the Polo, Taigo, T-Roc, and Tiguan. These bespoke trims provide excellent value for money, featuring added specifications and options as standard.

In further celebration of 75 years in Ireland, Volkswagen has launched 251 offers starting from 0% finance* across the range in collaboration with Volkswagen Finance Services. This offer is available on models ranging from the iconic Golf to Ireland’s best-selling electric vehicle, the ID.4 SUV. Volkswagen Ireland is committed to driving continued EV adoption in the country and is preparing for a successful year in the BEV market for 2025.

Speaking on the announcement, Alan Bateson, Director of Volkswagen Ireland, said:

“It is a huge privilege to be at the helm of this incredibly iconic and much-loved brand as it celebrates 75 years in Ireland. We look forward to a year of celebrating iconic products, continued market-leading innovation, and the brilliant people who have contributed to our brand’s success over the last 75 years. As we look to the future, we are steadfast in our commitment to driving sustainable mobility for all. We anticipate strong demand and growth across both petrol and diesel models, as well as continued growth in our BEV offerings, including the all-new ID.7 saloon and tourer, and our best-selling ID.4 SUV. We also look forward to welcoming the all-new Tayron SUV to Ireland in early 2025, which will be an exciting addition to our product lineup.”
