ID5 Max, 205 BHP, 77kwh net usable battery. 2023 reg. The 200 horsepower is more than enough. The car pulls well, even in economy mode. So well that I don’t even use the other modes. But they’re there too.
This car is excellent. I bought it because I like it and wanted one with ‘all the bells and whistles’. In the ID5, that is called the Max.

The seating position is excellent and the armrest in the door cards along with the fully adjustable ‘Captain’s chair’ with its integrated armrest combine to leave you fully supported at all stages of your journey.
The interior spec is high with a platinum grey interior. The material is luxurious velour with a still-durable nature.
The suspension is supple but supportive and absorbs road surface irregularities with ease.
Comfort entry is a feature of the car. I’ve the system set that when you walk up the doors unlock. You just touch the outside of the driver’s door handle to lock it.
The seats are fully electric and have a massage function. It will freshen up your back muscles if you feel like it on a journey.
The wireless Apple CarPlay connects on entering the car .
The car has Premium sound and it’s very enjoyable.
The Matrix lights are a very useful feature as they adjust the beam to shield oncoming traffic from the headlights. They work really well.
The boot has excellent storage capacity with around 560 litres.
The car charges quickly. I usually charge to 90%. On a 22kw (3 phase) charger it charges at 10kw,.
I bought it in Wexford Volkswagen. It was owned with the wife of one of the managers. So it was fully cared for by the original owner too.
The electric range in normal Irish weather is around 360 kms on a motorway journey. Wintertime is 400kms with mixed driving.
Summer is around 430km mixed. I don’t hyper-mile. Life’s too short.
I find at 120 kmoh it does 100kms per 19/20 kWh.
The car has the bigger touchscreen which is good and clear.
The level 2 semi-autonomous driving is very good. It’s called Travel Assist 2.5.
